Getting closer.

Working on the bunker on 18 and 2 green today. We are making some good progress despite the wet conditions and should be completed within 2 weeks with good weather.

Bridges

We are starting #16 bridge today. Should take about a week and a half to complete.

Very wet!

We are at about 4.5" of rain the last couple of days. The course is extremely wet and should only get worse with the forecasted snow.

I have the bunker guys coming back on Monday to try and see if we can at least get a little work done on the bunkers. The cart path guys won't be back for at least a week or so, and the bridge crew is going to start on #16 next week.

Rain

The course is going to be closed for a couple of days. It is extremely wet, and not having any drainage on the temporary greens makes for some wet conditions. We were getting close to finishing bunkers, but this rain will set us back a week or so. It will be a while before it is dry enough to get back out there without making a serious mess. Already have 2.75" of rain.

Progress report

The bridge on 8 is done and we will start 16 next week.

The bunker crew has about 7 bunkers left that we are flying through as long as it stays dry.

The course is pretty tore up from the contractors from the bridges, cart paths, and the bunkers. As soon as we get the contractors out of here we will begin the process of cleaning everything up and getting it finished off.

Range bed

Getting ready to put in a new landscape bed at the range. The irrigation is already installed and we are going to install a rock wall next.

Greens covers

The greens covers have been removed because of the recent warm weather. The covers have already made a big difference. I think we might switch one of the covers to 15 green to help with some of the thin areas on that green next time it gets cold.

Progress

The bridge on 8 is tore up and new decking will start to go down next week. This bridge had a lot more rotten decking than the one on 18 - good thing we are getting all the bridges done this year.

The bunker crew has about 10 bunkers left. The wet weather has really slowed us down. With a dry week ahead we should start knocking out fast.

The wet conditions and all the construction activity has made an absolute mess on the course. A lot of areas next to the cart paths are tore up and muddy ruts. Once we get all this construction equipment out of here, we're gonna have a lot of work ahead of us this spring to get ready for opening. There's gonna be a lot of fixing, leveling, spraying and sodding once the course starts to dry out and green up. Needless to say, February on, we're going to be in hyperdrive.

Bridge Plan

The bridge on #18 had been completed and we are now moving to the bridge on #8.  This is a change from the original plan in which we would go from #18 to #16.  We’re more than halfway done on the left fairway bunker on #16, but due to the recent rain, it is too wet to work on that bunker.  I didn’t want all the construction traffic driving on the new bridges if we could help it, and #8 bridge isn’t needed to access any of the bunkers that are left to work on.  Once the bridge on #8 is done we will move back to #16.  This should give the bunker crew enough time to finish the bunker on #16 once the ground dries out a little.

The back 9 will remain open when we are working on #8.  Once the bridge on #8 is completed the front 9 will be re-opened and work will commence on the #16 bridge.  #4 will be the last bridge because of the complexity of working over water.

Thanks for your continued patience with the project, and with a little drier weather, things should be completed by the end of the month.
