Below is a picture of root length on a couple of greens. #5 it the worst greens and could be compared to #6,8,11,13,14. #12 is a medium length and is in decent shape and could be compared to #2,3,4,9,10,15. #16 has great root density and length and could be compared to 17,18,1. These greens are in better shape because of more air flow, better construction, and less poa than some of the other greens (poa is very weak with short roots when compared to the bentgrass).
