Drainage infrastructure
Here is a picture of one of the drain basins on the golf course. We are fixing this one because of all the holes and cracking around the inlet and outlet pipes seen here. These holes cause the soil to wash into the basin and leave holes around a lot of the basins - which we go around and fix with dirt, gravel and concrete.

Bunker Edging
Here is a picture of the bunker edging that we are doing right now. It gives all the bunkers a nice clean edge.
Winter Golf Day
TRCC Golf Members: We are going allow carts on the fairways this Wednesday as part of our winter golf day program. Periodically throughout the winter we will have these days weather permitting (no more than 2-3 per winter). We keep golf carts on the path throughout the winter to prevent the bermudagrass from getting worn down, and allow it to come back nice in the spring. The fairways have finally dried down enough to allow us the opportunity to do this in 2012. Take advantage of the nice weather while it lasts!

poa in the rough
There is a lot of poa in the rough right now. We have sprayed all the short grass earlier in the year, but had to wait for the rough to go dormant before spraying. Now that it's dormant it's been too wet to put the sprayers out on the course. As soon as it drys down a little the sprayers will be rolling, trying to get all the rough sprayed. We are working with backpack sprayers around the greens to try to get a head start on it. The weeds take a while to die this time of year - because of the cold nights and the plants are not really actively growing.

Venting greens
We have been working on punching the greens for the winter. This is a great practice this time of year to encourage root growth and help the greens dry down and firm up. We rolled them today after the aerator and the holes should have little or no affect on ball roll.
